Feigning Interest (?)...

Postby Guinness Fan » Thu Oct 08, 2015 2:19 pm

I have just returned home from one of those "mandatory fun", cocktail, happy-hour, meet-and-greet, events...with expats living here in Bosnia. I usually avoid such gatherings, but this one looked interesting - advertised to be a mix of internationals & locals...FAIL...No locals & the internationals formed their typical cliques - complaining about the "hardships" of living here. Two beers, feigned interest...and wandered down to my local pub...

So, the question - Have you ever been to a social event where you had to feign interest?

I usually avoid events like that as well.

Our neighbors invited us to a slide show of their trip to New Zealand one time. Oh my God. When they start going into detail about stuff, you want to run for the door to get the boredom out of your head!!

Nah, I love my in-laws. My own family, however...
