Stages of Life

There's a lot of discussions about "internalized homophobia" going on here. Talk about racism, prejudice, religion, and all that's on your mind. Now you have a new place to gab.

Stages of Life

Postby olywaguy » Sat Jul 25, 2015 11:43 pm

Well, I am entering a new stage of my life...the unemployed kind.

Last Monday, I decided to resign my position at the library. My last day will be this coming Thursday. The job is taking me nowhere. I don't usually quit job without having one already waiting for me so this is a new experience for me. I did apply for another job on campus, but haven't heard about it yet.

I am returning home to Mississippi. Mom is getting older and I feel the need to be back home.

I will be applying for a job in Jackson, MS for a Historic Resources Specialist...an opportunity to use my history degree. That would be something else if I got it.

Don't know what the future brings, but hopefully something good will come of it.

Only you know what is right for you, and you know when it's right for you too. Good luck on the HRS gig!

My brother found out he had cancer when he was 50 and then spent the rest of his life fighting it. So he never travelled that much or had time to enjoy his money.

I know it's kind of sad to say, but yeah taking time to enjoy life before you die is sometimes a wise decision.

Your situation isn't that black and white but it still applies.

I think if you follow your heart, you cannot make a wrong decision. I'm so glad you stopped by here for a few days! It was such a pleasure to finally meet you.

I did get a part-time job working as a proctor and registering students for online classes at a community college nearby. This just happened last month.

I am enjoying my time with family especially with my grandnephew and grandniece.

A new possible job has sprung up. Ole Miss has an opening for a Night Supervisor in Circulation. It's a full-time job with benefits, etc. So, I am going to apply for it. I previously worked there a 17 years ago.

The one that I am in at the moment is great but it is only 18 hours a week, 3 times a week and no benefits.
