That last year Stan Lee was one of the recipients of the National Medal of Arts for:

...revolutionizing the American comic book. The citation noted "His complex plots and humane superheroes celebrate courage, honesty, and the importance of helping the less fortunate, reflecting America’s inherent goodness." Photo by James Kegley.

Yup. And the City of Seattle is acting all ass-hurt, while the people IN the city were staying away in droves because the owners couldn't figure out that there's enough competition in Seattle for entertainment value that they have to put forth a winner or we ain't comin'.

The first anti-homosexual law in the American colonies, The Buggery Act of Henry VIII, resulted in the 1624 hanging of Richard Cornish for having sex with a 29-year-old cabin boy.

As of 1999, researchers had observed same-sex behavior in over 475 animal species.

According to a 2006 peer-reviewed study, a man's odds of being gay increase 33% with each older male sibling.

Scientific studies have demonstrated physiological differences between heterosexual and homosexual people, such as eyeblink rates, inner ear structure, and hypothalamus size.

Here is an account of what happened between Cornish and the cabin boy. It is written in middle English so the spelling is not quite the same.

Mao Zedong was a librarian. In 1918, Mao lived in Peking, China as a young man, where he was an assistant librarian at Peking University. The chief librarian at Peking University was a Marxist, and succeeded in converting Mao to communism.

NZ has the swine flu!
Some students learning Spanish flew over to Mexico and breathed in the locals' sneezing.

Why they didn't go to Spain and learn the king's Spanish is beyond me.

Kazakhstan is the world's largest land locked country. I watched Borat last weekend. :P

Other charming land locked countries: Afghanistan, Bolivia, Chad, Niger and Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan is actually double land locked....it is entirely surrounded by other land locked countries.

DYK Your height is the same length as your arms are extended out from your sides with your fingers also extended?

I sometimes, when asked how tall I am, extend my arms out from the side and say this tall.

That isn't always true.

I'm about 6'2"-6'3", but my co-workers measured my wingspan at 6'7" one night.

Did you know the collective name for a dozen cows is flink?

Did you also know the local colloquial term for a herringbone milking shed is boner?

So, if you heard someone say "I've just milked a flink in my boner", he wasn't being rude at all.
