Star Wars Reviewa (Spoiler Alerts)

What do you all think about the new Star Wars movie "The Force Awakens?"

I've been looking forward to seeing this movie for a long time....and well, I don't know. It's good, but it doesn't match the hype that it has been given.

Too much action, not enough story and characterization. The story didn't have enough tension and conflict. There wasn't much there to make you want to care for the characters.

--For example, they pretty much tell you who the bad guy is really early in the movie. So, what's the point of wearing the mask and the oxygen voice and showing his face. Yes, he is Darth Vader' s grandson...big woop. Oh yeah, he's got a British accent and he's Han' s and Leia' s son.

--Rey is the breakout character in the movie. People think she might be Luke's daughter. I think she might be Obi Wan Kenobi' s granddaughter. She's very powerful like he was and handled the lightsaber fairly well considering she's untrained.

--Why were Han an and Leia separated? No tension there.

--A central character in the movie series dies. For me, that's the big shocker in the movie.
However, I think he may have survived some how.

--The honor is back, but the audience that I was with didn't seem to get it. I had a very calm theater. Didn't see any major geeks there.

The story needs to be improved and there needs to be a bigger buildup in conflict and tension...more mystery.

I came out of the theater feeling empty. The movie should have been titled "Star Wars: The Search for Luke Skywalker."

I saw the original in 1977. It was so hyped up you had to go or you were a party pooper. I'm not a science fiction fan, so I was bored to tears. I did admire the enthusiasm, though. Whatever turns you on, I guess.

I saw it here in Sarajevo a couple weeks ago - in 3D... Good, but "the Force" wasn't with this one... Bridge of Spies was MUCH better.
