Worst Movie Ever...

Postby Guinness Fan » Mon Jan 03, 2011 9:28 pm

This weekend, I was channel surfing and landed on Turner Classic Movies (TCM)..."The Forbidden Planet" was on...2nd time in two months that I watched it. Talk about a low-budget, b-movie, classic 1950's SiFi film ~ it was SO terrible, I found myself enthralled by the quaintness of it. Low-tech special effects, lousy acting, lame plot. 2 hours of my life I'll never regain, but if it's on again, I'll tune in and zone out...

Oh yeah? Try Zombie Lake. It was so bad that someone actually edited it down to one minute, and you still get the entire gist.

OK - ya got me there ~ THAT was both campy & crappy...but at least it was in color...and made 25 years after the Forbidden Planet! After watching the 1 minute version, I think I've seen enough ~ I won't be looking for it on TCM......then again, it's SO bad, I'll probably HAVE to watch it!

A coincidence perhaps; Anne Francis, star/love interest The Forbidden Planet (1955) has died at age 80. Yahoo obit.

My, my. Earl's apparently a tough one to please! Granted, there are probably movies in each category I could find things about that don't thoroughly entertain me but "worst"? Really? Wow. I can usually find something about a movie to enjoy or at least appreciate. And I think you'll probably have to turn in your "gay card" for not liking "A League of Their Own"

Still, I'll play along:

Anything with Adam Sandler
Anything with Rob Schneider
Anyting with Elvis

No THE worst horror movie I watched was a 80s I think, horror movie called Truth or Dare. The only good to come of it was Slipknots masks and a 4 door Pontiac Parisienne [sp?] barks second gear.

Movies I like:

Airplane!
Fargo
Caddyshack
Uncle Buck
Thelma & Louise (yeah, men suck!)
Spanking the Monkey
What about Bob?
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Tootsie

Wow. I haven't liked anything since Fargo. Yikes.

I guess there were two notable movies since Fargo....Brokeback Mountain and American Beauty. I wouldn't say I liked either one, but they both had enjoyable moments.

Interesting. American Beauty is the only movie I can ever remember buying a ticket to see and then walking out.

^I've only ever walked out of Oceans 12. Oceans 11 & 13 were fantastic. 12 however was terrible IMO, don't know what happened there!

The only movie I ever walked out of was Edward Scissorhands starring Johnny Dipp. And I've never given Mr. Dipp a second chance since then. :P

The guy who wrote American Beauty is gay. He also created Six Feet Under. Alan Ball.

I think Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor. He's one on the few actors who really takes on a charactor. Actors like Tom Cruise suck because every charactor he plays is "Tom Cruise".

The English Patient was so bad that at the end I was just waiting for the patient to go ahead and die.

I would have to disagree about The English Patient, although it's been a few years since I've seen it. I admit it's a little slow, but I think the acting, writing and direction make up for it.Besides, it's one of the most romantic movies I've ever seen without ever becoming sentimental.

Speed 2: The Worst Sequel Ever Made, hands down.

I'm glad I never paid big bucks for it nor went to see it in the theatre. I would have walked out, I thought it was that bad.
