First nearly 70-degree day in Seattle in nearly 9 months. Happy happy joy joy. But man, sure noticed something in Seattle today. What's up with the resurgence of "Miami Vice-wear" (bright pastel t-shirts, etc.) all of a sudden? Kinda weird. And guys wearing white pants or jeans? Especially tight white pants or "skinny jeans"? (Not that I'm complaining about he eye candy, mind you :) Just sayin'). Then again, most of the guys I saw wearing this stuff are too young to remember the 80's :)

Skinny ties are making a come back as well. I still have mine from the 80s.

I liked the Miami Vice...it was the first time men experimented with colors other than neutral ones. Actually the ratings on that show when they started wearing black and brown and other darker colors.

I went out suit shopping today...No luck as usual...I wear a 39 long suit ~ they're as rare as hens teeth here in the US...I need to make a trip to Thailand ~ I've used a tailor there for years ~ great quality & a decent price.

I hear that. For me, trying to find a 46L is tough. And when there are any to be found the selection is miserable. Worst part is that when you do find something decent the pants need so much tailoring they don't look or feel quite right a lot of the time. Luckily, with care, my suits last quite some time. When I needed a sherwani for a wedding in India a while ago, finding for my tall and decidedly Midwestern-American frame (the wider shoulders, chest and calves, especially) was a challenge so it was kinda cool to have the tailor pull something together in a couple of days.
