That would be cool. Naturally as a gay man I prefer the Canadian side, but can my boyfriend, a Mexican National get a visa?

Does he need a visa ? Check into that because I'm not sure he does.

As of 2009, Mexican passport holders need visas to enter Canada, unless they are permanent residents of the US.

Interesting...not a single Latin American country is included in the list.

Wow. Thanks, Dan. You are quick. :D I just assumed that Mexican nationals didn't require visas. I had no idea. Chip, is your guy a permament resident of the U.S.?

And Carlos, I saw on our news that your town has massive fires there. Is all ok with you?

Thanks for thinking about us Nimby. He is not a permanent resident and he lives, works, and goes to school in the Mexico.

The Taylor Bridge Wildfire, as it is called, started a week ago and has burned over 23,000 acres. My town is about 4 or 5 miles away from the fire. The town of Cle Elum is about half an hour from where I live.

Actually, my town, Ellensburg, has been serving as a refuge for evacuees and their animals. The animals have been placed at the county fairgrounds and the college I work at opened up one of their dorms for evacuees.

This morning, though, there was a strong smell of burnt in the town. It will be like that for a while for sure.

Boy, I didn't realize that news of the wildfire had made it all the way to Canada. I miss having CBC.
