SInce Germany just got ruled out for my unit doing a tour there, Llet me see how I'd be able to stretch a gig in March.

I'll check my schedule, But I think I'll be doing something the middle of March.

I'd like to know a date we could apoximate then commit to as well.

Dan Has left a poll up. Some cool ideas/tidbits about activites, places to visit were given to newbies like myself who don't know sh!t from shinolah about Vegas. What's the consensus on it? Or is more time needed?

By combining the two polls, we still have the same rsults.

I'll be traveling to Louisiana for the holidays, and my internet access maybe very limited.

I'll pop in as often as I can to see what you guys narow down.. Looks like the consensus wants the other guy to make an initial date..

Or maybe that's the way I'm reading it.

& maybe we can't all be free on the same days.

I, TomSA & his b/f & maybe 2 other friends figured maybe more guys could get off during a holiday weekend like Memorail day.

We'll try to be as flexible as we can..

Just as Long as Dan & Jesse help us avoid the tourist traps.

One thing I've learned difffernt, is that there are more gay clubs than I was told.. Which is cool I guess.. I knda figured that for such a celebratory city.

I just look forward to meeting some of you guys..

Now that I'm all confused on the polls let me say that whatever "we" decide John and I are in. I voted for the latest date possible only because the weather would be nicer and the pools more likely to be open. All the better to see some skin.

Seriously, even if the date is pushed back to nearer the holiday or even to early summer to get more participants, I wouldn't mind. I have an extremely flexible schedule (one of the benefits of being the boss) and John is early-retired so he has no schedule. Count us as definite!

Well, let me see if I don't have class or work on the weekend of the 19th.
So far no one's voted in May but me, with the strong possibility of 4 more..Hmm. that makes 5...even tie with Memorial day weekend..
& I think Xaphan was interested in a later day to save on some dough.

Like I say, I can be felxible. The only hold back for me is this 2 week school the military wants to send me to either in Feb or March. Yet, I'll try to curb around the majority votes as best I can. :D

over the holidays, I had a very crappy flying experience. Both traveling to & from my destination.

Once a date is confirmed,I'll be flying out.

I don't want anyone to experience what I went through because they have to purchase tickets & plan events at the last min. Image

There have been polls put up, Seems like everyone is suggesting just pick a date. & we'll see what bites.

TomSA, I, & a few others have suggested we shoot for Memorial Day Weekend.

This would give the Planning Gurus time to plan events, everyone attending time to save money, & some folks time make accomodations for thier personal needs back home while they're in Vegas.

How is everyone with this?

Dan, Jesse, I've never been to Vegas, so I wouldn't have much input with planning stuff. But if this date is cool with the both of you, & there is anything I can help with in terms of organinizing, please let me know.

Memorial Day weekend sounds good, that should be plenty of advance notice for everyone.

That should also be after the spring storm season in the Vegas area so we could enjoy some time outdoors???

Darn! Mom and I are planning to go out to Vegas in June to meet up with my brother and sister-in-law, so I guess I won't be able to make it before that.

The thing about Memorial Day weekend is that because it's a big holiday weekend, hotel rates and airfares will be higher than normal.

Carlos, point well taken.

Do you think we could scan the areas we anticipate staying at & see if they could offer a deal for renting like a whole block of rooms.

& Would booking rooms in Jan help us avoid the holiday jack up they might try to pull.

Well, with school and (for the time being) work M-F, a weekday is out of the question. Yes it would be cheaper to get rooms during the week, but I think that if we have enough people going to fill a few rooms we can haggle a better weekend price out of one hotel or another. I just can't miss class really because these classes are not very forgiving in that respect. You miss one day and you are hosed for the rest of the semester.

The upadate is it looks like because we're such a small group, it seems like there's not much of a discount we can come up with.

Doctor Dan & Jesse have been very instrumental in getting some hotels & links to hotels that are worth viewing.

For those that are interested, you can contact them.

TomSa had some places dowtown near the strip he, myself, & friends(?) Where ever that is.

He & others have said it's worth it since I've never been there.

Aaaah.... gotta' love the hurry and wait of the military. It's all good.

My unit had to get it's head out of it's 4 point of contact when planning our anual training.

I contated them. & My deal with them is last week in Apr, 1st week in May, something like that. So,Memorial day weekend is a go with me..

Finally, I can plan to buy tickets hotel & all.. I Look forward to seeing some of you for the 1st time and finally hearing what the rave of Vegas is all about.
