what's your shoe size?

Postby dabonsteed » Sun Nov 07, 2004 1:45 am

so, what is it?

I wear a 7 to a 7.5 depending on who makes the shoes. and I have to buy a boys large in socks otherwise the sewn in heel ends up above my ankle. It sucks.

I'm slightly below average height for men, but I don't get why they make everything so damn big for men. I don't see that many huge men out there. Seriously. A few friends of mine are about to give up and start a "small dudes store" because we're sick of buying kids clothes.(although they are cheaper).

One of the things that makes life interesting, I guess. Although having the cashier at Old Navy go "oh, your kids are going to look so cute in this!!!...oh.....this is for you, isn't it?" is weird and humbling at the same time.

I have small feet for my height. I'm 6'1 and wear size 9 (8 1/2 depending on the manufacturer). But my hands are big (or my fingers are long, one or the other). And I was born a month late and was only 6 pounds. I guess I'm just the exception in every category!!

normally 14 (13.5 UK/47 EU), but a generous 13 (12.5/46) can work if it's a good shoe. dress shoes that are M width never work in smaller than a 14. the ideal world is 13.5 E, but these are custom-made for me. so i usually buy a 14.

I'm gonna go ahead and have a really gay moment... This reminded me so much of that quote from Steel Magnolias. I think Dolly Parton says something like, "In a good shoe I take a size 7, but an 8 feels so good, I buy a nine".

Back to the question at hand. I wear a size 9 shoe and I'm 5' 10".

Like Vince, I'm 5'10" but I wear an 11.

My dad blames this on me not tying my shoes as a kid...

...which is the stupidestFucking thing, I know, but whatever.

Oh, and before anyone says anything about what having "big feet means?"

Stop.

I simultaneously have the smallest hands for a guy. And the longest arms.

I had those velcro shoes a lot as a kid, wonder if that's why I have the smaller feets. I'm 5'7" which is below average, but not a problem for me otherwise.
And as far as other areas, well, a gentleman doesn't discuss such matters. But almost all guys are happily suprised :)

All my shoes are size 7 (US) / 40 (EU). Except for my snow boots, which are 8.5.

I range from size 12 to size 13, depending on the manufacturer. My feet are a bit odd-shaped. They're not really wide enough that I explicitly need to buy wide shoes, but when the salesperson measures my feet, the part at my big toe says 12-12.5, while the thing on the ball of my foot says 13.5-14, so I either need to buy things that run wide or else are explicitly wide. Perhaps this is why I prefer to wear sandals whenever possible and HATE, HATE, HATE shoe shopping.

Hey the thread's about shoe size, not body hair. LOL.

I am well aware that if I were like 6'6", I'd wear like 17 shoes, proportionally speaking. I blame it on my weight when it was younger, as I have very low arches...so they kind of spread out during my growing years. So I thank my lucky stars I'm 5'8".

I wish they made a size 9.25 shoe, it would fit perfectly...I can wear a size 9 but not comfortably, but 9.5's feel loose.

I'm 5'9.

It's like the "sorta-wide" shoe...D is the average. EE is wide, and EEEE is REALLY wide.

And I hear ya, Billy. I'd kill for a 10.75 EE. 11 will have to do.
