Tupelo, Mississippi got torn up pretty badly by a tornado today. This is Carlos's home town where his mom and sister live. I pray that all are ok.

I've been posting stuff on my facebook page.

You can find me at: http://www.facebook.com/olywaguy

My mom and younger sister are without water and electricity. My older brother brought some water for them to have. I sent emails to the electric company and made calls to the water company both yesterday and today. Apparently, some pipes in front of my mom's house split open and water is coming out everywhere. They are going to cut her meter.

A tree on my mom's property fell and barely missed the house.

A high school classmate took this aerial view of the damage caused by the tornado in Tupelo yesterday.

Of course, the tornado took place on what would have been my dad's 77th birthday yesterday. He passed away at the age of 56 in 1993.

Just got a text from my mom telling me they have water now. Electricity won't be back until Friday.
One down, one to go.

As far as tree removal is concerned, mom's insurance will have to take a look at it first. That tree was planted on the property when we bought it. So, no more than 25 years old.

For more information on what is going on, you can go to Tupelo's Daily Journal.

Wow those things rip trees out by the roots.

Glad to hear your family is okay, Carlos.

Well I am glad no one was hurt, Carlos. Thank goodness. Oh, and I got off of facebook. No time for that stuff right now.

My mom got her electricity back this past Wednesday...all is well. Folks around town are trying to rebuild and having to deal with insurance companies now.
