A New Year -- MMXI

Postby Rico » Fri Dec 31, 2010 2:20 pm

If I had my wish, I'd be spending New Years Eve like the guys in the picture below. Even though I'll be alone tonight, I know that I am never really alone. Credit for the pic and poem that follows goes to Nick, posted on his blog Homo Eroticus. Cheers and Buon Anno!

What can be said in New Year rhymes,
That's not been said a thousand times?
The new years come, the old years go,
We know we dream, we dream we know.
We rise up laughing with the light,
We lie down weeping with the night.
We hug the world until it stings,
We curse it then and sigh for wings.
We live, we love, we woo, we wed,
We wreathe our prides, we sheet our dead.
We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear,
And that's the burden of a year.

In the Beginning there was nothing, and God said: 'Let there be Light." There was still nothing, but you could see it.

What a nice way to spend the New Year's for sure. :D

I will be spending it home alone probably watching Dick Clark's New Year's Eve.

A question occurred to me and I don't know the answer: If one is live webcamming or live chatting with others, does that still qualify as "alone?"

Rico, ^^ In today's wired-in, instant-communication world, I think that cam'ing (if that's actually a word) & chatting has become the new way to socialize...It sure beats some of the holiday parties I attended over the past couple of weeks...

Happy New Year to one and all. Im not alone because Im having a calm and relaxing night hanging out with the one and only Captain Morgan. Staying in and watching the ball drop. Untill then drinking and watching tv with the Captain.

In Canada, on New years, our balls usually go the other direction.
