Checked out the Caribana festivities in the city..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XljqKDW9 ... re=related
and discovered a new hangout:
http://www.zeldas.ca/

Wife and I had a blast. Had dinner on the patio, which was actually really good, people watched, then caught the drag show and the "best ass in the crowd" contest. And, yes, total strangers go up on stage and drop trow to win $150. What a barrel of laughs!!! Great time. . And the place was packed full of very charming guys and gals. I was so impressed. And next to us was a tranny and his wife celebrating their twentieth anniversary. And hot servers wearing next to nothing but great big smiles. Perfect Saturday night to people watch on the patio!

Now where off to take the kids to see G-Force. Geez, sometimes I feel like Clark Kent, leading a dual life. Oh well, it's fun none the less.

It's a LONG weekend here in British Columbia... it ain't over yet, but.... on the third day, I'm resting.

Friday night I was in the gay village and started shooting video of "Koodo's Big Night Out". Part of Davie Street was shut down for a street party sponsored by Koodo, a cut-rate cell phone plan. It has been very hot in Vancouver so, I think, I was already starting to suffer heat exhaustion from working so hard this past week. I did video of the party and spent until 4am working on getting it up on YouTube.

Did 3 videos... the first one is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA6jYxT3v-k

Saturday I had no energy and VERY, VERY tired... I realized I was on my way to serious sickness (heat exhaustion)... very, very tired, so slept most of the day, drank a lot of juice and milk. Up at 6pm and went out and did video of the fireworks at English Bay (a block away) and stayed up 'till 4am getting it up on YouTube.

Then up, again, early, on Sunday, feeling much better and was out by noon to video the Gay Pride Parade. That was very exhausting because I walked, very fast, along the entire parade route. Back home about 4pm and began putting the NTSC video signal through windows movie maker to get it up to YouTube. I broke the material down into 5 videos. Had the first video up by 6pm. By midnight it had over 300 views. It was very strange and exciting to watch the views grow so rapidly. Now I have the bug and want to get a high definition camera and see if I can become a YouTube star (and start making some money from them).

You can see the first Pride Parade video here.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvEaW_sKveY

It's 6am. I have managed to break my addiction from pot... one month pot free (I am legally licensed to smoke... I have severe arthritis). Haven't had any kind of buzz for years and no amount of smoking will make it happen. This is the first time I've managed to stay off it in many tries... but now I can't sleep properly and will have to accept that I won't likely sleep properly for the rest of my life.... but it is saving me $400 a month and that will buy a lot of paint (I'm an artist) and... a high definition camcorder.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Very cool, cloudy and actual rain in Vancouver this weekend. The trees are singing hallelujah and thank you. With Stanley park only two blocks away... 600 acres of forest, I'm grateful too. Been 5 "suspicious" fires in the past month and the police horse patrol is doing extra patrols. If that forest went up I'd get cooked, I'm so close.

Went to Grandview park today, at noon, hoping the rain would stop. It did, in time for a small crowd to show up for the first bubble blowing party. I did a video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzePLIWSX3Q

I'm totally bagged out and tired, just making a cup of hot chocolate/ovaltine combo, and it's dreamland for me.

G'nite.

Transplanted some of the bulbs that Smitty sent over a few years back - he was right - you can't kill those things......

Cleaned house, and cooked - that's all :D

I cleaned my bathroom. I got a little over zealous with the scrubbing, slipped and scraped my arm up pretty good. It's okay though, because my toilet and I are blood brothers now.

Last night I created a brand new blog called Carlos the Critic. Its a movie review blog which you can find at:

http://carlos-the-critic.blogspot.com/

Last night I posted a welcome and tonight I posted my very first review. Hopefully people will like it and it is maybe the only way I could consistently maintain a blog. We will see how it goes. Let me know what you think.

I have to admit I did a "speed read" and I'm not really much into film anymore. I think you put your heart and true feelings into it. I, personally, prefer a "cut to the chase" approach to the written word and critics, although I can be pretty wordy, myself. I'm kind of a "just the facts ma'am). A suggestion... avoid beginning a sentence with "so"... or, if you do, don't do it more than once.

Well, now I know what the movie is about. I saw the first one because I wanted to see what the "fuss" was about and I like special effects but don't really enjoy going to movies by myself, and I don't know anyone. Used to go with my straight boyfriend. He was a good movie partner because he didn't care where we sat, and didn't talk during the flick. And I enjoyed spending time with him. Anyhows, keep it up... the reviews, and you may get a following. :D

Mother-in-law in town! She arrived Friday morning and left early Mon. Spend Saturday in DC acting like a tourist. We even rented Segways for a two-hour tour. She really enjoyed herself until she took a spll in front of the White House. Sunday was my cousin's new baby's Christening and she went with us. It's nice when his family gets together with mine. They all live out of state so it rarely happens. Make sugar cookies shaped like crosses for the occasion. Busy, busy, busy!

Anyone going to "gay day" at Kings Dominion this weekend?
