Christmas Travel

Postby olywaguy » Thu Sep 29, 2011 9:22 pm

I know you may think this is early, but today I got my airline ticket to go back home to Mississippi for the holidays. I actually found a ticket that was less than
$ 500.00 via Delta (who tend to be on the more pricey side).

I didn't get to go home for Christmas last year because of Delta's high prices. They took over Northwest Airlines which was the only airline that had a route to Tupelo. That means I haven't been back home since 2009. That was the only time since I moved to Washington State that I missed the holidays with my family.

I found a good price by just changing the dates. I started off with Friday, December 16 and a return date of Jan. 1 which was giving some very expensive prices and I changed it to Thursday, Dec. 15 and a return date of Monday, Jan. 2. That worked well for me.

Now, I can't wait to get back home for Christmas!!!

Nice. Better early then too late. I usually use Hotwire.com to get all my flights, and being flexible helps a lot.

Me too. I missed my family so much last year.

I opened my Christmas presents over the phone with them. LOL. However, not this year. Now, I need to begin the process of looking for Christmas presents.

This may sound corny but not counting the gifts for the children, the best presents you can give to your family is your presence.
