What has age got anything to do with it? What makes you think he might not be gay? All you need to do is just talk to him and get to know him better....come on, don't be shy...make some small talk!!

I hit that special point in the day about an hour ago--you know, the one where you realize that, no matter what happens, you won't get anything useful done for the rest of the day?

Once I realized that, I gave myself a free pass.

I am recovering and decompressing from the holiday season. It's nice to have it over with for another year. (New Year's doesn't count.)

*edit* Wait! I wasn't done!

Went out for morning walk with the hubby this AM--made it a little longer than usual as we discovered improved parking another quarter-mile or so beyond our usual starting point. After yesterday's debauch, I felt like I was sweating butter. I think I'll start on the exercise regiment a little earlier this year--I'd like to drop my usual ten pounds or so, maybe try adding a few toning exercises to the routine... or indeed, any.

Another annual tradition completed. The house is now as cleaned, vacuumed, floors washed, dusted, oven cleaned, fridge and cabinets organized, tub scrubbed, laundry done (not ironed, but...), etc. Even windows washed (well, the inside anyway). All to start the new year fresh and ready to greet 2012. Time for a nap, I suppose. I need one anymore if I'm going to stay up past midnight!

Happy New Year!

Worked. Ran the boat from Point 'A' to Point 'B' a few times. Did payroll, wrote down where I was on four different administrative projects and discovered I was at the "made some calls and waiting for information" point on all of them. Faxed payroll, looked around for a moment, said to myself, "well, that year's a wrap," came home and had a whopping big cup of tea.

Went to a party for the first time in ages. Looked at all my portly old friends and wondered, 'what the hell happened?' LOL! It was so great to see them all. Was home by 11:30 to be with my kids. Just having a glass of Zinfandel then toddling off to bed. HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!!

About 2 weeks ago I started a new diet; well more of a life style change. I've been cutting back on portion sizes eating more fruits and vegetables and drinking more water. I've been exercising and weight lifting consistently also. So far I've lot 4.5 pounds and I'm feeling great. Hunger cravings have been going down and I have a lot more energy. I'm off to a good start so hopefully I'll keep it going.

Good on yer--slow and steady is always the best way to go when seeking weight loss. it's even better when it happens as a side-effect of a positive lifestyle change.

I've been doing very well with my new lifestyle change. Continuing to eat healthy and work out daily. I weighed myself this morning and was 267.5! Im really happy about that since I was a bit bad this week. Its been a long time since I've been this weight and I think once I get out of the 260's I'll really start to see some good changes in me.

Thanks! When I started this I weighed 284 so I think I'm coming along nicely. Especially since I can still have a bad day or two once in a while.

Awesome!!! Slow and steady wins the race. I put a bit on (about 15 lbs.) but I think the quitting smoking is a good excuse. I'll loose it again when I have my cravings under control.

I just installed a closet organizer. Holy Hanna! I had to hunt down every tool I own. I'm sure it'd be easier if I was, um, onganized.

I recommend a tool box. That way you're looking for one big thing instead of a myriad of small things. And to be doubly sure, get a red one.

So I've been a little out of a the loop for a good while so here's a little update.

In the final year of my Physics degree (finish in May). My papa died right before my January exams and I went from having kick ass grades all semester to just pass my 3 exams by skin of my teeth. All my classes this year are 100% exam graded so its brought my grade average right down...now studying my ass off to make sure I get a kick ass mark in my final set of exams in 2 months and my final year research project.

Literally my life is up at 7am, in school for 9am, leave around 10/11pm, in bed for 12. Repeat.

Im so burned out and just seriously can't wait to graduate. :(

Hi guys... After numerous attempts I finally remembered my password & was able to log in. Great to see the site is still running...just a short note to say hello - typing on this iPhone thingy is a pain in the arse...I'm looking forward to reading the boards & catching up. By the way - is anyone in the Netherlands?

Good morning all! Woke up at 3 AM, about an hour and fifteen minutes before my alarm would've gone off. I wish I knew what woke me up... oh well. At least I had time to waste in front of the computer for a bit. Now, it's off to work. Feh.

Today was good. Work was quiet and uneventful. The only disturbance was the appliance repairman showed up an hour and a half early.

No, really.

I may have to explain that I scheduled the appointment for when I did--namely, after work--to guarantee that someone was there, and since I am the Maintenance Technician at the house, ask the damn questions.

Instead, I ended up having to beat a check to the bank.

I think I did.

Don't know. He came an hour and a half early, and was gone before I even got home. To make it more annoying, the thermostat that was installed isn't working properly. Either it's running all the time and freezing the water pitcher, or it's not running at all, and I have ice cream soup. They're getting a phone call Monday.

As a recent arrival here in thr Netherlands, I've soon realized that a bicycle is a "must have" piece of kit.. So I spent all day yesterday traipsing around to bike shops - WAY too many choices...buying a car is easier...and from some of the prices, cost about as much. By my math it's been over 35 years since I've ridden a bike ~ I'll probably end up on YouTube...or in ICU.
