Drill Baby Drill

Postby Rico » Thu May 20, 2010 6:59 pm

I don't think we yet realize the magnitude of this disaster. Although most of us are in a state of partial denial, or somehow optimistic that this mess can all be fixed and repaired, and everything returned to normal, I believe that this one incident has the possibility of changing the course of humanity. Sick and dead humans will likely follow, but these "guys" pictured below, closest to the nightmare, go first.

Kinda sad it took a month for somebody to notice, too. And ironically the well blew up on Earth day.

I don't understand why there was no plan to fix a disaster like this either. Or why it has taken so long. It's sad, pathetic and inexcusable.

A real enviromental disaster. But oil does make the world go round. You have to expect these things. Shame our enviroment has to suffer to such an extent, but the people will be suffering too. Just wait and see.

If you wonder why you feel sick about this, it's because our compassion for animals helps us maintain compassion for our fellow humans. Being insensitive to the suffering of animals deadens the feeling of human compassion in general. Kant made that observation a long time ago.

So if you feel like throwing up right now, or feel like hitting something, that's really a good thing. You're human.
