The Royal Wedding: William & Kate

Postby olywaguy » Fri Apr 29, 2011 2:16 am

Who is staying up late to watch the festivities. I am watching the Canadian channel (CBC) coverage of it. Anyone have any parties at their home?

It has been announced that William & Kate will be known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Yeah, I watched. Kinda got sucked into it. Told my elderly neighbor lady weeks ago that of course she could come over and watch the wedding my TV (bigger & brigher, picture-in-picture, etc.). Of course I wasn't thinking that it was going to be on at 1 AM.... Then she invited another of our neighbors over. So the party was at my house, I guess. To me the coolest thing was when they came out from Buckingham Palace driving themselves away in that Aston Martin!

I watched too. I was up late the evening before, so I just pulled an all nighter. I thought it was great. I'm a sucker for fairy tales and happy ever afters. My daughters got a real kick of watching a princess being made. I really wish then well and much happiness.

Didn't we fight two wars because we didn't want anything to do with the royal family?

Seriously, however, William and Kate have a very high statistical chance of lasting. First of all, they lived together for several years before being married and (presumably) have had sex long before the wedding night. This was not a six-month courtship between blue-bloods who really didn't know each other (as was the case with William's parents).

Slightly off topic...but...did anyone happen to see Princess Kate's brother, James Middleton? Quite the looker...and reportedly gay to boot...I'd post a pic, but haven't got a clue...over to you techno-savy guys...

He looked very good the day of the wedding.

for example:

for some reason, the system keeps putting the %20 in between the words.

Didn't follow this... lucky people born in the right place @ right time... no real interest as I don't see a reason to be.. Diana was a good person she did a lot of good and had a good heart. But following someone just because they are wealthy meh. :?:

I didn't 'follow' it either, other than to note that they make a lovely couple and I wish them all the best. Beyond a basic humanitarian concern, I don't really care any more about the rich/famous/beautiful/royal than they do about me.

Same, i don't wish them any harm, but I don't have a screaming desire to watch their wedding or travel somewhere they might be appearing any more than I would do so for the stranger in the yellow house 3 streets over.
