Biggest Political Event of '09

Postby selective_soldier » Fri Dec 25, 2009 3:48 am

Sorry for a sort of redundant question in 2 forums. {I’m trying to catch up} Since I’ve been out over14 months, what’s been the biggest Political event this past year?

I didn’t see the Pres. election take place.I heard that was news worthy

I came back to some chick named Sarah Palin screeching something about death Panels. I’m like..O---kay! There must’ve been more in the news

Wow! This was surprising. Gay Mayor elected in Houston.

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Houston became the first major U.S. city to elect an openly gay mayor, Annise Parker, after a hotly contested run-off election that gave gay and lesbian supporters a symbolic victory following defeats over legalizing same-sex marriages in California and Maine.
