As memory serves, depilation was quite common in ancient greece, particularly in Athens, and much of the artwork follows this mode. The Egyptians certainly practiced it as well. An exception seems to be beards among older males.

Off hand I'm not sure, but I'm certain that all of the ancient empires had various forms of razors. Depilary creams have also existed in various forms for a long time but I'd have to go digging into a few books to come up with just how far back they were around...

From your perspective. :)

What I can tell you is that straight men really go gaga over body hair on men.

I have a moderate amount of body hair, and all my straight friends in the office keep praising me for it. One of them went ahead and clicked my pic as i was changing... the other kept it on his computer. A third said, they look very sexy...

I know how they mean... i saw hair on the back of one of them as his shirt moved up, and man did he look sexy with that...

I also have a gay acquantiance, and he keeps shaving his hair everywhere on his body. He is effeminate too, but straight acting, so he tries to cover up his effeminacy, and doesn't like to be told that he is feminine. I just find him yuk, even though he is very beautiful, when he showed me his shaved chest.

I think gays are just different. That's why they want a different identity from men.

I'm not sure how hair is indicative of masculinity or femininity. It's simply there.

I tend to prefer my men with a little hair around their nipples and on their belly. Not too much, not too little. But ultimately hair does not make the man, and I've seen men of almost all shapes and sizes, and with and without hair, who flipped my switch. If I'm with a woman, she shouldn't have hair anywhere except for a patch down there.

I love hair on a guy, especially a hairy chest. Not really digging a hairy back though.

Don't mind a little manscaping in the nether regions (within reason), personally I keep by balls shaved, but no clipping on the north pole.

As I'm getting older, I do find that the hair is quickly migrating down my shaft....WTF?

I wish I had more chest hair, really odd growth pattern, so it's just easier to keep it shaved.

I used to go through the whole process of keeping my torso shaved, but it just takes too much time.

Now, I just keep my stomach slightly hairy.

As for nose hairs and ear hairs...it seems to be growing faster each week.

Hair is great, everywhere, fronts and backs and in between. A hefty, floppy shaft dangling from a jungle growth with a couple fuzzy orbs is an awesome sight. Love to lightly stroke my chest mat and belly trail. Love to rub it against my sweetie's fur and stroke our legs together.

Their reasons for shaving were more practical than why we do it. It's easier to fight off the lice and fleas when you don't have any hair.

But it's also easier to get insect bites without any advance warning that something has landed on you, like malaria carrying mosquitos....

I believe in shaving certain areas because they can trap odors  and "debris" as in laying the thatchwork for "adobe bricks"...

Masculinity, are you following me around? While I like feminine gendered men, I have to be in the right mood for them. Usually, I will just have sex with a woman when I want a woman, and besides, India is too far for me to travel.

I'll assume that any trapped odors are madly attractive and anyone who says otherwise is in denial.

Me lazy. I don't even want to shave in the mornings. If you want a statue, go to a damn museum. I can't be so bothered!

My facial hair grows back way too damn fast. If i go one day without shaving i look like a bum.

Got lots on the ass and pubic area..which i wonder if i should trim or not. I did not even know people did that till recently. I don't think i should have to but it seems like the fem guys don't like anything raunchy and would prefer it that way right?

It's hard to say what they like unless you ask them. Maybe they like someone who is the opposite. If you look at most porn movies, the guys even if they are hairy have been trimmed a little. But in most porn the parts are trimmed because it makes them look bigger than when buried in hair.

The guys with the hugest d - cks, you'll notice, will minimally have the entire LENGTH of the shaft shaved to the base plus the balls shaved, and the pubic hair on the body minimized to a smaller diameter patch than normal to emphasize the appearance of the d - ck being proportionately larger.

The guys with the hottest bubble butts are generally shaved so you can see how hot they are and so you can get good closeups of the penetrations. It's also easier to "toss a salad" if there are no "bean sprouts", "bacon bits" or chunks of "croutons".

Also as guys get older some will shave because they don't want the gray hairs showing in their private parts reminding their partner(s) of their age during sex. Some might dye their pubic hair but if the color bleeds into your tighty whiteys or the shower floor at the gym, or on your partner or the sheets when having sex, or you leave an "ink trail" when you jump in the pool at someone's party, that's an embarassment that would be hard to live down.

I love hairy guys. Chest hair is a huge plus. Back hair isn't a plus for me but it's not really a minus either. Try one of those back shaver devices with a long arm - like a body groom but cheaper and meant just for your back.

I like a full bush, but ok with shave balls. I don't mind a hairy butt, I find it very sexy.

I tried the full pubic shave once, it couldn't grow back fast enough.

I just whish I could grow more chest hair, although it seems to grow more on my lower back, which I can't stand.

I happen to be a very big fan of body hair. The hairier the better is my motto. I would never get rid of my body hair or my facial hair permanently. I think it takes away from the guy, however some people pull it off better than others.

When you get more muscular, you'll change your tune on that....you'll see...you're gonna want to show off your new body and the hair is going to go" buh bye!" 8)

They lose their bodybuilder status if they are furry....then they become "bears"...

I beg do differ - a bodybuilder is always a bodybuilder. They are called muscle bears if they don't shave.

Bodyhair gives a muscular body even more def and hotness.
In short, body hair is always better nomatter what body type you are.
